Since 1937, our family has been growing wholesome, great-tasting rice while tending to soil, air, water, and wildlife as carefully as our crops. Some people say we’re a bit unconventional. But doing things our way—sustainably at every step—allows us to make better food for your table while leaving a better world for the next generation. That’s why we use organic farming practices, say no to GMOs, build soil health, provide habitat for hundreds of species, and offset our manufacturing facilities with 100% renewable energy. Loving it! Will buy again!
I love this wild rice. I don’t consume normal rice which is not good for health.. This rice you need to soak it overnight 8-12hrs, so when you cook it it is fast and soft. I cooked it in the rice cooker. My husband had it for the first time and he is loving it. Very fluffy, taste good, healthy and the color look beautiful. I hope Walmart can reduce the price. If they did, I will buy only this rice from Walmart.

    Makes great soup
I used this to make Paneras style Chicken and Wild Rice soup. It was perfect!!

  4. Cheryl

    Goes with many different things
This rice is so delicious and filling. . You make a whole meal out of it by adding vegetables and protein like chicken . Or you can have it on the side as a compliment to turkey or chicken and serve it with cranberry sauce . I have a recipe where you use this rice and instead of water you use beef stock and you add dried cranberries . You wouldn’t believe how good it is . You cook it like you would rice pilaf .

i dont know if ive ever had black rice before. this isnt all black, it also has light colored rice in it. i havent a clue if thats a normal thing for black rice or if the light color was added. nevertheless, this stuff smells great cooking. it also tastes good. i tried rinsing it but the water didnt get dirty or cloudy. so it may not be necessary to worry with that step when preparing to cook it. unlike a bag if brown rice i purchased from the damily dollar store just prior to this purchase. thats how i learned you might need to rinse or wash your rice, or in this case pick things out of it. anyways. this is good, CLEAN rice! cooks up nice, and tastes great. its good for you too!

    WARNING
Don’t believe all whole grain food is Heather because it’s not. Rice gown in the south is loaded with rat poison (arenic) becouse farmers put it chicken feed to stop rats from eatng it. Now it’s all in the field becouse chicken fertilizer. This crap turned me into an insomniac.

THIS SHAMED MY MAD COOKING SKILLS
at hour 1.75, i gave up on ever softening these grains. i KNOW how to cook and make great fluffy rice. i’ve now wasted 2 cups of pecans, a bag of cranberries. i have a tablefull of hungry guests and i’m cooking basmati instead. i’m sticking to my brand in a plastic container

Wild rice was not a hit
I bought this rice for health reasons thinking we would transition from white rice to healthier wild rice. The cooking time was more than twice that of white rice and I followed the package instructions. It was still chewy and the texture was unappetizing. The taste was on the bitter side. We preferred no side with our chicken versus eating the wild rice.

Chances are there wasn't collaboration, communication, and checkpoints, there wasn't a process agreed upon or specified with the granularity required. It's content strategy gone awry right from the start. Forswearing the use of Lorem Ipsum wouldn't have helped, won't help now. It's like saying you're a bad designer, use less bold text, don't use italics in every other paragraph. True enough, but that's not all that it takes to get things back on track.

The villagers are out there with a vengeance to get that Frankenstein

You made all the required mock ups for commissioned layout, got all the approvals, built a tested code base or had them built, you decided on a content management system, got a license for it or adapted:

  • The toppings you may chose for that TV dinner pizza slice when you forgot to shop for foods, the paint you may slap on your face to impress the new boss is your business.
  • But what about your daily bread? Design comps, layouts, wireframes—will your clients accept that you go about things the facile way?
  • Authorities in our business will tell in no uncertain terms that Lorem Ipsum is that huge, huge no no to forswear forever.
  • Not so fast, I'd say, there are some redeeming factors in favor of greeking text, as its use is merely the symptom of a worse problem to take into consideration.
  • Websites in professional use templating systems.
  • Commercial publishing platforms and content management systems ensure that you can show different text, different data using the same template.
  • When it's about controlling hundreds of articles, product pages for web shops, or user profiles in social networks, all of them potentially with different sizes, formats, rules for differing elements things can break, designs agreed upon can have unintended consequences and look much different than expected.

This is quite a problem to solve, but just doing without greeking text won't fix it. Using test items of real content and data in designs will help, but there's no guarantee that every oddity will be found and corrected. Do you want to be sure? Then a prototype or beta site with real content published from the real CMS is needed—but you’re not going that far until you go through an initial design cycle.
